Step 1, forced birth.
Step 2, school.
Step 3, 9-5.
Step 4, retirement.
Step 5, inevitable death.
It doesn’t have to be this way for everyone. You want to be a baker? Find a baker to work for, but continue to bake what you like as well. You want to be an artist ? Find an artist who will mentor you or go to art school to improve your craft. Or don’t, just keep going and challenge yourself.
I can guarantee you that your formula is not at all required for anyone to have a happy and successful life. It’s a choice, people who follow the above pattern are either okay with it or they’re not, which one are you?
